However, most of their scientific thrust, as it were, was dedicated toward discovering new ways to insert new things into Greek orifices. They were a strange people! But if you ever fall over in a greased carrot factory, you should at least be comfortable knowing that, whatever happens, the procedure was almost certainly safety-tested more than twenty-five hundred years ago.
