The pi of life

Did you know that the number pi, also known as the Golden Ratio or Avocado's Number, is frequently represented in nature and art? It’s true!

The Golden Ratio describes natural patterns of grown and structure that are physically stable and efficient, as well as aesthetically pleasing to human viewers. And not just humans! When scientists showed images of paired rectangles (with proportions that fit the Golden Ration) to dogs, the dogs experienced increased salivation, erections and intense seizures. Try it out on your own dog some time!

Some natural and manmade things that display the Golden Ratio:
Sunflower seed growth patterns
Hermit crab shells
The perfect golf swing
A baby’s head
The pyramids
Amethyst
Circles
4:17 (on both digital and analog clocks)
The Star Spangled Banner (the song and not the flag)
Molars

Rabbits
